Vasiliki Prestidge will be attending and presenting at the Business and Practice Translation 2022 Conference in Lisbon from 9th to 11th May 2022.
The annual conference was first held in its current iteration in 2014 in Budapest from where it first derived its name ‘BP’. The conference name has gone on to stand for many things over the years including ‘business and practice’, ‘boosting productivity’ and ‘badass polyglots’! The conference’s mission is to boost your confidence as a freelance translator and equip you with practical skills to thrive in the market. The much anticipated conference heads to Lisbon this year but will be offered as a hybrid event for those that would prefer to attend from home.
Remote attendees will be able to follow the sessions and interact with the speakers in real time and every effort will be made to involve them in networking where possible.
Vasiliki’s talk ‘asking for help is tough and burnout is tougher’ will cover the following and provide practical advice to implement into your business:
It’s hard to admit you need help when you do. It’s difficult and risky, at least in our mind, to invest in better tech, equipment, systems that help us work faster, or the people that take tasks off us, tasks that we can outsource, we are not good at doing or perhaps we shouldn’t be doing. But if you invest in the right people, this will only bring returns to you and your business. Learn how to take your business to the next level, create a supportive team, nurture relationships, let go of perfection and self-limiting believes and see your one-translator band transform into an orchestra.
The long-awaited return to the in-person format is sure to make this an inspiring conference with exciting networking opportunities.
